Burgo Ardennes: Journée Portes ouvertes 2025
Confirming the success of a similar event held in 2022, this year’s Open Day offered the local community an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the plant and to appreciate its steady commitment to sustainability and safety.
What challenges does a paper mill face today? What measures does Burgo Ardennes take to ensure low-impact processes and positive social outcomes? What raw materials enter this site, and what products come out?
Visitors at the Journée Portes ouvertes 2025 in Burgo Ardennes found answers to these and other questions through two self-guided tours: one dedicated to pulp and the other focused on paper manufacturing processes.
Featuring educational stands and more than 140 information panels, the two routes offered an overview of:
- production of wood-free natural and coated papers
- in-house pulp production
- wood procurement policy
- internal emergency services
- energy management strategies
- the importance of the new photovoltaic park built on company land.
The day provided an opportunity for exchange and dialogue between the plant and its local community, eager to learn more about the activities and environmental monitoring policies of a paper mill committed to achieving carbon neutrality.
More than 16.000 latest-generation panels producing sustainable electricity and bringing Burgo closer to the Net Zero Carbon target.
As part of the GO 2030 strategy, the Group has established tangible actions to protect biodiversity.
