16th century cartography and topography, a volume on Burgo paper
This was the first and only catalogue of special and general maps of the countries of the world, urban cartography and topographic maps produced in Italy during the sixteenth century, the golden age of Italian cartography.
A monumental work, long awaited by scholars, collectors and lovers of ancient cartography from all over the world. The work is the result of long, meticulous research, consultation, comparison of variants and editions, conducted by the authors Stefano Bifolco and Fabrizio Ronca who were present at the event. Three volumes, with a total of approximately 2,400 pages, presenting over 1,250 maps, and more than 2,500 editions described in their variants.
The volume was printed on 150 g/m2 R4 next satin Burgo paper, produced by the Sora plant.
