Avezzano hosts RicicloAperto during Paper Week 2024
The Paper Week, organised by Comieco, Consortium for the Recovery and Recycling of Cellulose-base Packaging, is back again in 2024, from 8 to 14 April.
Now in its fourth edition, Paper Week is a campaignto inform and educate about paper and cardboard recycling.
A week full of events for schools, citizens, paper-industry professionals, and opinion makers to learn about and explore an increasingly central issue in our daily lives.
The campaign – made in collaboration with Federazione Carta e Grafica, Unirima, and under the patronage of ANCI, the Italian Minister of Environment and Energy Security, Utilitalia, and Rai per la Sostenibilità – aims to involve a wide and heterogeneous audience to convey the same message through different languages: the selective waste collection of paper and cardboard at home initiates a virtuous circle, enabling an effective and efficient industrial process.
It’s a virtuous circle that produces positive effects and tangible results for the environment, the climate, our entire community, and the economy.
RicicloAperto at Burgo plant in Avezzano
As part of Paper Week, RicicloAperto 2024 is a widespread initiative whereby thematic museums, paper mills and recycling plants open their doors to thousands of students, who can see and ‘touch’ some steps of the paper and cardboard recycling process.
The event involves over 100 locations, including the Burgo plant in Avezzano.
Once again, Burgo Group is taking an active role in RicicloAperto: on the morning of Wednesday 10 April, the Burgo plant in the Abruzzo town will host more than sixty students.
The students will have the opportunity to experience first-hand containerboard production, and discover the characteristics of this specific kind of paper.
