  • environmental and satellite monitoring;
  • bioenergy and agriculture;
  • water cycle and blue economy.

Burgo Group at Ecomondo 2024

Once again Burgo Group participate in Ecomondo, recognizing the importance of the green and circular economy for the paper industry and the need to keep up with the latest developments in the field.

Specifically, Burgo Group was present in the exhibition area dedicated to waste treatment, promoting its ESG GO 2030 strategy and showcasing its various branches: Mosaico, Burgo Recycling, Burgo Energia, and Burgo Containerboard.

The States General of the Green Economy

In addition to the fair, Ecomondo hosted the States General of the Green Economy on November 5 and 6. The event was promoted by a National Council of 66 green economy business organizations in Italy, in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, and with the support of the European Commission and the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy. This year’s main theme was “The Economy of Tomorrow: The Green Deal at the Start of the New European Legislature.”

Valerio Forti, HSE Director at Burgo Group, participated in the session on "European developments: measuring well to improve business circularity," delivering a presentation titled “Sustainability and Circularity Reporting – Burgo Group's Experience”.

In his speech, Forti discussed sustainability reporting, starting from Burgo Group's 2023 Sustainability Report, and highlighted key results related to the circularity of water resources and waste.

Forti then addressed the Group’s next steps in reporting, focusing on the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), and its alignment with the new EU-specific environmental standards, ESRS.

Specifically, the E5 standard defines the information the company must include in its reporting on resource use and the circular economy.
