In terms of indebtedness, the Group's financial situation has continued the marked improvement undertaken in previous years: at the end of 2023, the net financial position was about € 114 million cash positive, an improvement of over € 100 million compared to the previous year.
Despite the complicated context, characterised by the persistence of significant uncertainties and geopolitical and macroeconomic tensions, the positive results achieved by the Group in 2023 confirm the value of the strategic choices and the path undertaken through the development of growth segments, such as specialty and packaging papers. This is without overlooking the long-term sustainability goals set by GO 2030, the Group’s ESG strategy.
This is precisely where Burgo Group's development activity lies, with an investment programme dedicated to diversifying products and making production and energy supply more efficient in order to improve the variety of products, profitability and the environmental footprint.
